Mona Vick is originally from Amarillo, Texas, but has spent the majority of her life in Colorado. She enjoys Colorado’s changing seasons and beautiful outdoors. She's earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Education at Colorado Christian University, Master’s in Administration degree at Phoenix University, and recently earned an endorsement in Cultural and Linguistic Diversity. Most of my career has been in Charter schools where I have served in leadership roles. She currently attends Joshua Nations Bible Institute at my church in Lafayette. She loves teaching children and adults God’s word and academics. She am the mother of two amazing children. Jacq is my twenty-eight year old daughter. She is a gifted author and minister of God’s word. I am so proud of her consistent faith in Christ. James is my Twenty-five year old son. He is home with us again in Colorado after serving six years as an Explosive Ordinance Bomb tech in the Army.Type your paragraph here.
.Tammi Love, PreK Teacher:
Tammi is originally from Alabama but moved here with her family from Biloxi, MS in 2015. She attended Tuskegee University and studied Architecture. While in college, she served in the U.S. Army reserves 718th Engineering Company stationed at Fort Benning, GA. She is the proud parent of three children: Jordan, Ronna, and Jaylon, which is deceased. Tammi is a member of Jubilee Word of Faith Outreach church and teaches in the children's ministry. She also serves as the Ignite Youth Dance Ministry choreographer. In her spare time, She loves to learn about different cultures through traveling, reading, and trying new cuisines! She is honored and thankful to be apart of the Inner City Staff.
Jason Thompson, Kindergarten Teacher:
Jason is a native of Louisiana, and spent most of his childhood and formative years living in New Orleans. He served honorably in the United States Army before enrolling at Louisiana State University and ultimately transferring after surviving hurricane Katrina to the University of Memphis. After Graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Mr. Thompson completed his Juris Doctorate in 2007. Jason practiced contracts law at the Law offices of Gail O. Mathes L.L.C. prior to changing to a career in teaching. Today, Jason is continuing his education in pursuit of his teaching certification and licensure. Jason and his wife of 7 years Tina attend All Saints Catholic Church in Denver and have been blessed with four beautiful children. Jason enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor sports.
Christine Madrid, Third/Fourth Grade Teacher:
Chris is the 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Inner City School. She has a B.S. in Bible and Christian Education from Houghton College and an M.A. in Elementary Education from The Colorado College. She has taught for twenty-six years in Christian schools in the Denver metro area. She has five children and a host of grandchildren. Besides teaching she enjoys studying the Bible, reading, cooking, playing tennis, and discovering yet unvisited places in Colorado with her husband Thom.
Angel Robinson, Office Administrator and Day Care Program Director:
Though a native of Denver, CO, Angel spent most of her childhood through young adulthood living in Pasadena, CA. She attended both the University of Colorado-Denver and UCLA. Angel worked in the banking and finance industries prior to beginning a career first as a stay at home mom in 2005 and then as the head chef at a local child care facility. When her son was in 2nd grade, she was looking for a Christian school that would teach him structure, build character, discipline, have small class sizes, and give him the tools he needed to be successful. ICS provided all of these tools and then some. Little did she know that this was the Lord's way of changing her career yet again. She enjoys her job, loves the staff, and kids. She is extremely grateful to work for ICS as the administrative assistant. Today she is continuing her education in ECE, and has been dubbed the “chef” for the staff.
The Inner City School staff are dedicated and loving individuals who care about the future of our children.
Carolyn Lowe, First/Second Grade Teacher:
Carolyn was born in San Bernardino, California. At the age of 13 her family moved to San Francisco, California. She retired from Safeway Stores, Inc., and went back to school. She graduated from Cal State University Hayward in 2003 with a B.A. degree in Liberal Studies, and a minor in Ethnic Studies. In 2005, she moved to Brighton, Colorado and worked at the Academy of Charter Schools before joining the ICS staff in 2008 as the 1st grade teacher. Carolyn has three sons and eight grandchildren. Carolyn truly enjoys being surrounded by such loving staff and a great bunch of eager students. She thanks God often for leading her to such a unique school.
Mona Vick, 5th/6th Grade Teacher
Jacquelyn Graham, Principal and Executive Director:
Jacquie was born and raised in California. She attended City College of San Francisco before moving to Denver. She received her B.A. degree in Communications from Metropolitan State College, Denver in 1981. She began her career in education in 1993 teaching High School English, History and Bible at Cedarwood Christian Academy and Heritage Christian School. In 1998, she switched careers and work in full time ministry at her church as the Administrator for 10 years. In 2007, Ms. Graham received a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Colorado Christian University and joined the Inner City School staff as Principal/Executive Director in January, 2008. Jacquelyn enjoys missionary work and has traveled extensively overseas. One of her passions is to take students on overseas missions trips. Jacquelyn has three grown daughters and five grandchildren. Ms. Graham believes that God directed her to Inner City School and her love for the staff, families, and students grows richer and deeper with every passing year.
